What Happen to 8th St.

Was talking to a friend the other day and she started asking me why 8th street looks like it is only half done. And that when she looked at the original proposal, it had a four-lane boulevard and four-lane bridge!

Well, the street does look awkward. And the bridge does look unfinished.  The information I had was that  after the proposal was approved by voters, at one price, concrete prices increased drastically, and the cost of four lanes would not have been covered by the approved bond. At some time in the future, if increased traffic dictates the need for the other two lanes, then another bond will have to be approved by voters.
